Find Stillness Through Creativity…
Let your mind wander. Let your hands move. There’s a kind of quiet magic in making something — a moment of peace in the middle of the noise. Art has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life, offering comfort when I needed it most. There’s something about colour, texture, and movement that calms the mind and soothes the spirit.
I used to think I wasn’t creative — truly. If you’d asked me ten years ago, I would’ve told you flat-out, “I’m not an arty person.”
Then my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumour. It was a scary time, but thankfully, the surgery went well. While he was recovering, I stumbled across paint pouring. It started as a distraction. Then it became a passion. And somewhere in the middle of all that colour and flow, I realised: I am creative. We all are.
Since then, art has become a daily practice for me — a way to quiet my ADHD brain, to centre myself, to process emotions, and sometimes just to dream up something new and ridiculous. It’s my meditation. My sanctuary. My joy.
My hope is that, through the classes I offer, you’ll find your own version of that. Maybe you’ll find peace. Maybe you’ll reconnect with a creative spark you forgot you had. Or maybe you’ll just enjoy the simple pleasure of making something with your hands.
Whatever you find, I hope it brings you joy.
